THE KC&BO VFG SPORTS PERFORMANCE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
OPENING DAY ITINERARY!

Itinerary for Saturday June 17th, 2023:

Gates & Concessions Open: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM

• We will have the griddle grill going serving everything from Breakfast Taco's, to outstanding Fresh Grilled Burgers to World Famous Nathan's Hot Dogs, AND we will have plenty of HEALTHY OPTIONS! We will also feature Chick-Fil-A and Jet's Pizza!

Merchandise Sales: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

• D-BAT Lewisville is our OFFICIAL MERCHANDISE PROVIDER and will have ALL OFFICIALLY LICENSED NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP APPAREL.
• Their PRO SHOP TENT will be located between the Concession Stand and the Main Baseball Pavilion overlooking field #3 (you can't miss it)!
  

Skills Challenges & Activities: Scheduled Times/Pre-Registration Required: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

PLEASE NOTE: All Skill Challenge Events require pre-registration, and have deadlines by which to be registered for. 
Go to the "OPENING DAY ACTIVITIES" page for the registration link. ONLY Coaches or Team Managers may register players for the Skill Challenges.

Parade of Teams, Awards & Opening Ceremonies, Traditional "Hat Toss" on Field #5

• Week One, June 10th, Line up begins at 11:45am. Event at 12:00 pm. (Right Field Foul Pole on Field #5)
• Week Two, June 17th. Line up begins at 3:45pm. Event at 4:00 pm.  (Right Field Foul Pole on Field #5)

PLEASE NOTE: All KC&BO VFG SPORTS PERFORMANCE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS may participate in the following SKILLS CHALLENGE events (again, pre-registration is required and you must visit the OPENING DAY ACTIVITIES page to pre-register for these awesome Skill Challenges):

• EvoShield "Around the Horn Challenge" Skill Challenge: This is a fun competition that will test teamwork, throwing accuracy and quickness!

• Oakley "Fastest Player Challenge" Skill Challenge: This is a fun competition that will test individual SPEED!

• Wilson "Fungoman Team Fielding" Skill Challenge: Experience the greatness of Fungoman as teams compete to see who can get the highest scores! 

• DeMarini  Homerun Derby Skill Challenge will take place at Bakersfield Park Week One, and at D-BAT Lewisville Week Two, in conjunction with the Coaches Check-In. PLEASE NOTE: Coaches please review the Coaches Information Page for specific instructions regarding the Home Run Derby for Week Two!

• Dick's Sporting Goods Throwing Challenge: Pitchers warm up and get ready throw your fastest pitch! Registration and details can be found on the Opening Day Activities Page.

ALL TEAMS:

• Pin Trading & Card Trading :  All day at Bakersfield Park!
• Vendor Row: Featuring the D-BAT Lewisville PRO SHOP: Wilson + Oakley!
• Tailgating: All day at Bakersfield Park! {Gates will open by 7:00 AM, no saving spots, parking main parking lot will fill up early, RV's restricted to overflow parking lots for Opening Day.} Please Note: For SAFETY REASONS grills are only allowed in the Parking Lot area (NO GRILLS ON THE GRASS.)

Final Reminder: The "Skill Challenge Events" require Pre-Registration. No "walk-up's" allowed!
Coaches/Team Managers go to the "Opening Day Activities" page for the registration link and register your players for these awesome events!

Coaches Meeting Immediately Follows Opening Ceremonies/Parade of Teams:  

The Coaches Meetings will be held In-Person again this summer. Attendance is mandatory.

Coaches Meeting Information

Week One: Saturday 6/10/23  - 12:45 PM at Bakersfield Park, Field 8 Bleachers (immediately following the Awards/Opening Ceremonies). 
Week Two: Saturday 6/17/23  - 5:00 PM at Bakersfield Park, Baseball Pavilion overlooking Field 3 (immediately following the Awards/Opening Ceremonies).

Meeting Agenda:

• Introduction of Tournament Officials
• Tournament Overview & Zero Tolerance Policy Review
• Tournament Rules Review & UIC Comments
• Review of Protocol for Random Roster Checks
  
• Closing Remarks

Game Balls:

All teams must supply two new game balls per game. Any "quality" brand is fine (Rawlings, Diamond, Wilson, etc.). Wilson is the Official Game Ball of the National Championship. Teams will supplement new game balls during the game with quality game ready baseballs. If possible, not guaranteed, D-BAT Lewisville will have WILSON baseballs on-site for sale.
