I would like to thank each and everyone of you that participated in our donation drive for the Moore tornado victims. Your donations exceeded way beyond what we were hoping for.
My Rattler Baseball team will be loading the truck (donated by Huffines dealership) this week, and will deliver and unload it on Friday 6/14. We will also be able to present to them checks totaling over $1,300 while we are there.
At this point we do not have any more room for items, but will gladly accept any cash donations. Please email me if you are wanting to make a donation; evp@fmysa.com.

Moore, OK Tornado Relief Drive
FMYSA Family,
A email was sent out today to all of our members asking for donations for the victims of the Moore, OK tornado. To read the entire letter, please click here.
We will be accepting donations of household items, clothing, sports equipment, non-perishable food items, water, and of course cash or checks. No item is too big or too small. If it is used in a home, they will need it.
Saturday June 1 and Saturday June 8
From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM we will be collecting items at Bakersfield Park (by the flag poles)
From 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM cash/check donations can be dropped out at the main concession stand at Bakersfield Park
If you have a large item that you need picked up, please contact Rick Kenyon at 972-849-7529 to make arrangements.
All items will be delivered on Friday June 14th to the Moore Youth Baseball Association. They will cooridinate the distribution of donations to their members that were directly impacted by the tornado.

Flower Mound Kid Fish
If you aren't playing ball in the morning on Saturday May 4th, please be sure to attend the annual Flower Mound Kid Fish.
Rheudasil Pond will be stocked with more than 500 lbs of catfish for the event which is free for youth ages 16 and younger. Prizes will be given in several categories and awards will be given at the event. For more information, call 972.874.6276 or Kid Fish at 1.877.REEL-M-IN.

Softball Skills Development Program
FMYSA is pleased to announce a weekly softball skills development program, focusing on pitching, catching and defensive skills.
The program will begin on Wednesday February 27th and continue through May 15th at Bakersfield.
Skills night will be lead by seasoned and veteran coaches, who have a wealth of skills sets to share.
THERE IS NO COST TO THIS PROGRAM.

Due to the rain causing a late start to the season, Baseball and Softball All Star Tryouts have been delayed until Sunday April 28. Registration times will be made available the week prior to the tryouts. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, but feel it will give the kids more time to prepare for the tryouts.
Conflicts with this new date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Please direct any questions or concerns to your age group directors.

30th Annual Easter Egg Scramble
Saturday, March 23, 1:30pm-3:30pm, FREE
Bring your children to Jake's Hilltop Park as the Town celebrates its 30th Annual Easter Egg Scramble. Lots of candy will be available for the taking and there will be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny! Activities begin at 1:30pm, and the Scramble begins promptly at 2:30pm.

Underwater Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 30, starting at 10:00am, $7/$8
Hop on over to the CAC for the Underwater Egg Hunt! Eggciting activities include a visit with the Easter Bunny, arts and crafts, and games. Stay around after the egg hunt to play in the pool and enjoy other activities. Parents must be in the water with all non-swimmers. Pre-registration is required.

Rec Uniform Update
In order to improve the FMYSA brand and better maintain consistency in uniform design, FMYSA will begin including the FMYSA logo on all recreational baseball jerseys, and softball team jerseys for teams named after a MLB, MiLB or Collegiate team. While changes will impact team jersey design, all team logos will coordinate with official team hats and the official team hats will remain the same.
Coaches that did not requests uniforms for themselves will need to order one. The cost is $13.75 for just the jersey (hat not included), or $25.00 for jersey/hat combo.

Baseball Team Formation Policy Updated 1/15
2013 Baseball Team Formation Policy Update:
Due to the lack of time and methodology to properly communicate changes to the full membership, the FMYSA board has decided to delay the implementation of a new team formation policy until Spring 2014.
Our intention is to roll out a comprehensive plan that would benefit the vast majority of our kids and coaches, and we want to ensure that everyone involved in the league has had plenty of time to prepare for this updated policy. With this new found time, we will additionally form a task force to help with the effective roll out of the changes. We encourage families across the FMYSA community to participate.

FMYSA is amending the uniform rules for the month of October.
For the strict purpose of Cancer Awareness Month. You may NOT alter your regular uniforms. However you may if your team chooses to purchase Pink: Jerseys, Hats, Socks, Wristbands, Pants, etc……
FMYSA Recreation Baseball Bat Policy
As stated earlier in 2011, FMYSA will follow the direction of USSSA with regards to bat regulations. With the recent release of the USSSA bat policy for 2012 and beyond, FMYSA has released its own guidelines that are effective 1/1/2012.
